Hi Patricia,
Disney Dollars are the official currency of Walt Disney World and are accepted at the following Walt Disney World Resort locations:
- Ticketing
- Food & Beverage venues
- Merchandise locations
- Recreation areas
- Resort/hotel concierge desks
- Resort/hotel front desks
- Guest Relations at theme parks and water parks
Disney Gift Cards are an extremely convenient way of purchasing items at Walt Disney World. You will find that they can be used at all Disney owned and operated merchandise, dining (including gratuities) and
recreation locations where credit cards are currently accepted. You can also use the Disney Gift Card at any of the Disney Resort
hotels as payment towards your hotel room or to pay for any items which you charge to your Key to the World Card during your stay. Some
carts, and other outdoor merchandise vendors may not be able to accept the
gift card.
Should you have any other queries regarding Disney Gift Cards, I would
suggest that you visit their website at www.disneygiftcard.com
I have yet to experience a solo trip to Walt Disney World (aside from my Moms Panel training) and so would suggest that you take a look at a similar question which was answered fabulously by fellow Mom Erin F.

I hope that this information has been of help and wish you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
If I can be of any further help at all, please visit us again and ask me another question.
