Hey! We are going to Disneyland on Easter (April 20th). It’s a Small World has been closed since January, will it be open by then? It is my daughter’s favorite! Also, where is the entrance for guests of Pixar Place to get into California Adventure?

Hi there, Ashley, and welcome to planDisney! You have a visit coming up next month—“Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!”. (Just channeling my inner Donald Duck here!). Your magical adventure is just around the riverbend, so let's get planning!

I’ll start with your first question—although I realize it’s not quite what you’re hoping to hear, Ashley. Unfortunately, it looks like “it’s a small world” will still be closed for refurbishment during your visit. I just checked the calendar on the attraction page, and I’m not seeing any availability on April 20th. That said, I’d encourage you to keep checking back on that page to see if any new updates pop up between now and then. Rumor has it that Miguel and Dante from the animated film, “Coco”, are getting ready to entertain Guests inside the attraction during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. I’ll bet that has something to do with it!

Now, I know the attraction news was a bit of a bummer, Ashley, but I have some egg-celent news that just might have your daughter hopping with joy! Eggstravaganza will be returning to the Disneyland Resort during your visit, and it’s more fun than a pair of mischievous chipmunks! This family-friendly scavenger hunt takes Guests on a whimsical journey all throughout the resort in search of cleverly decorated eggs inspired by beloved Disney characters. I won't give away any secrets here, but let's just say I may have spotted an Easter egg from a certain pal of Mickey's tucked away in the Downtown Disney District a couple of years ago!

And finally, let’s talk about that direct entrance into Disney California Adventure Park for Guests of Pixar Place Hotel. This is one of my favorite perks, and I’m happy to tell you how to get there. As you come out of the hotel’s main entrance from the lobby, take a left and head toward the corner of Paradise Way and Disneyland Drive. Turn right to cross Disneyland Drive and walk toward Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Once you’ve made it across the street, walk just past the Grand Californian monument sign and turn right before you reach the hotel’s entrance gate. You’ll see a sign that reads “Pixar Place Hotel Guests Only”. You’ll scan your hotel room key, enter through the gates, and walk along a delightfully shaded walkway. You’ll be greeted by a Disney California Adventure sign, and from there, you’ll turn right and enter the security checkpoint. Once you’ve finished the screening, you’ll continue on to the next Cast Member who will scan your park ticket. Before you know it, you’ll be stepping foot into California Adventure right next to Corn Dog Castle in the Paradise Gardens Park area. (And, since you’re a Guest of Pixar Place Hotel, don’t forget to take advantage of Early Entry during your visit!).

There you have it, Ashley! It seems your Disneyland Resort trip is already starting to feel like a true adventure—even with "it's a small world" taking a bit of a nap! But remember, sometimes the best discoveries are the unexpected ones. I have a feeling you'll find plenty of magic around every corner. And of course, we're here to help with any more questions that might pop up—feel free to visit us here at planDisney any time!
