Hey there, Alyssa! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh my Mickey ice cream bars, your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is almost here! Let's make sure you've got all of your plans in order so you don't miss a minute of the fun!
Changing the name on an existing ticket is as easy as a ride on
"it's a small world." Just hop into the
My Disney Experience mobile app on your phone and tap on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of your screen. On the next page, click on "Tickets and Passes," then swipe to the ticket you'd like to change. As long as the ticket has not been used yet, you should see an option there to "Reassign Ticket." Click there and follow the prompts to make the change, and that should do it! Just keep in mind that any
Disney Park Pass theme park reservations associated with the ticket won't be retained when you change the name, so you'll need to make new reservations for that Guest.
While FastPass+ has been retired, there's a new way to plan your Disney day called
Disney Genie service! And when you upgrade to Disney Genie+, you can even skip the standby queues at over 40 attractions throughout the theme parks by using the
Lightning Lane entrances. You'll make your Lightning Lane selections on the day of your visit, although you can purchase Disney Genie+ in advance. There's a
video overview of Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Lightning Lane on the Disney Parks YouTube page that explains just how it works.
I hope this helps you plan a practically perfect holiday vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, Alyssa! Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, and I wish you a magical new year!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
