Hey, Moms! Can you use disney gift cards to pay for a cruise? If so, I know what to ask for when my birthday and Christmas rolls around. ;) :) Thank you!

Hi again, Angela! Yes! You can absolutely use Disney Gift Cards to pay for your Disney Cruise Line vacation. In fact, my family and I do this each time we sail because we've found it's a great way to save for our cruise and save a bit of money in the process.

Our local grocery store offers 2x, 3x or 4x fuel rewards on any gift card purchases we make at the store. Since we have to put gas in our car each week anyway, it's worth it to stock up on Disney Gift Cards when we shop there and save money on the gas purchases. Then, when it comes time to book our next cruise, or even pay for things onboard the ship, we've got Disney Gift Cards ready and waiting! I think of it as creating my own personal cruise discount of sorts!

You can make payments on your cruise as often as you'd like, as long as you put down the deposit (either with gift cards or credit card) first and then pay in full by 75 days prior to sailing. You're welcome to save all the gift cards to make one big payment, or pay a few now and then until it's time. Once onboard, any other Disney Gift Cards you have can be added to your stateroom account as credits so that when you purchase any fun extras onboard, like adult beverages, Port Adventures, Spa Treatments or souvenirs in the gift shops, the cost comes out of the credit you already have on your stateroom. Nice, right? Each guest receives a Key To The World Card when they check in at port that is used as your stateroom key and charge card while onboard. That'll deduct anything from your stateroom credit that you have, so no need to carry any other payment methods around the ship.

So, yes, put Disney Gift Cards at the top of your birthday and Christmas lists this year, Angela! Have fun planning!
