Hey Disney Moms and Dads! My family of 3 is plannning to visit Hollywood Studios Wed. Feb. 9th. We just learned about the Fantasmic dining package. Is Fantasmic that crowded in february that you the dining package is a necessity? Thanks!

    Hi Jill,

Its almost magic time for you!

Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS) is a super popular show. It is now only performed on select evenings so when it is performed, its always pretty crowded.  There aren't any special events planned at the theme parks that day but Disney's Field Hockey Showcase is being held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World February 9th - 13th, 2011 which may attract extra Guests in the theme parks.

I am a big fan of the Fantasmic! Dining Package.  Having a meal at one of the three awesome restaurants on the plan is always a treat and I love the fact it reduces my wait time almost in half.

There are two performances of Fantasmic! currently scheduled on Feb. 9, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.  On evenings when there are two performances, the dining package is only offered for the first performance.  If you are unable to get reservations for that evening, don't worry most Guests don't.  I'd plan to go to the 9:00 p.m. Fantasmic! because the second performances are typically a little less crowded.  You can take advantage of shorter wait times at some of the attractions during the first performance.

The first time I decided to go to the 2nd Fantasmic! performance, I slightly panicked when I arrived at the end of Sunset Boulevard to head down to the Fantasmic! theatre. It was jammed packed and I thought we'd never make it in. The closer we got I figured out they had not let people line up at the top entrance of the theatre yet because they were still cleaning up after the first performance.  We all made it in and had an awesome time!

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
