Hey Moms and Dads! My family usually goes to Disney the first week of June but this year we wanted to take advantage of free dining so we booked Sep16-21. Can you tell me about crowd levels and the weather for this time of year? Thanks so much!

Hi David!  My family usually travels to Walt Disney World during the month of September, so I can give you a pretty good idea of what to expect that time of year.  You're probably in for a pleasant surprise as far as crowds are concerned.  Traditionally, crowd levels are very tolerable during the whole month of September.  During the three or so hours after park opening you should be able to walk on many attractions without much of a wait.  Weather-wise, you should plan for very warm temperatures and humidity.  Afternoon thunderstorms are quite common; you should travel with ponchos.  The good news with regard to the rain, though, is that it tends to fall fast and furiously; it will be heavy at times, but it should pass relatively quickly.  I hope that gives you an idea of what to expect.  Have a great time!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
