Hey Moms and Dad, Have another ? DH and I are going to WDW Jan 09. Can't wait!!!! Staying at BC for the 1st time. I know they are undergoing renovations there. Can I get info on the new rooms? And how can I make sure to get one? Thanks once again.

While there is no way to "make sure" you get one, you can certainly request it.  What you'll need to do is call WDW 4-10 days before your arrival and request to speak with someone in the "back office" or in "room assignments."  Be sure to call within that specific time frame because only then will the resort have access to your reservation.  The Cast Member you speak with will document any requests that you have and when it comes time to assign your room, they will do their best to accommodate your request.

Once you arrive at the check-in desk it doesn't hurt to politely inquire if your request was accommodated.  If it wasn't, they might be able to switch some things around, depending on availability of course.

What I've recommended to you is exactly what I did prior to my recent stay at the Beach Club.  I also requested a refurbished room and was pleased as punch when my request was accommodated.  The newly renovated rooms are beautifully done, but I think one of the biggest improvements was the extra space made available by the installation of a flat panel television on the wall.  My family really appreciated an extra flat surface to store suitcases and other personal items.

The refurbished rooms also featured new bedding, headboards, carpeting and drapes.  They layout of the room was the same; it still features two queen beds, a daybed, a desk, a dresser, and a chest of drawers.  My teenage daughter was quite impressed with the addition of an iHome docking station in place of a standard clock/radio alarm.

Do keep in mind that not all requests can be granted, but good luck in getting that refurbished room!
