Ahoy Kate!
Welcome aboard! This question reminds me of the movie
Up, and my inner Ellie says, "Adventure is out there" when I hear about the
Disney Magic at Sea voyages. A staycation vacation on the Disney Magic looks like an excellent adventure at sea for UK residents and worthy of lots of pages in the Adventure Book!
Disney Cruise Line does not release its capacity numbers, so I have no way of knowing what they would be for the Disney Magic at Sea itineraries. I would say that the numbers have to be down somewhat to account for the necessary
social distancing measures that Captain Mickey is putting in place. For instance, the West-End style live show will be offered multiple days at various times so all Guests can register for a time to attend.
Sorry I don’t have anything definitive to tell you because I would love to know, too! The Disney Cruise Line crew is working very hard in their efforts to make it a safe and successful resumption of cruising. I am convinced that they has the overall health and safety of the Guests and crew as the highest priority. We are all watching with bated breath and chEARing them on!
Here’s my advice: if the number of Guests onboard is an actual concern and you are anxious about the crowds, then perhaps waiting to sail might be the best call. If you are simply curious about the numbers and want to know what to expect, then I say go for it and don’t be afraid to set sail. You will know what’s best for you and your family. If I had been on the
Disney Magic when it set sail, it would have looked like Steamboat Willie as he took the captain’s wheel, whistling a happy tune, with a big goofy grin on my face and lots of happy tears!
We’d love to have you come back by
planDisney if you want more Wilderness Explorer badges for Disney vacation planning. Hope that you do decide to book a Disney Magic at Sea staycation or another Disney Cruise Line itinerary in the near future.
“Now go have a new adventure!”
