Hi ya, Robin!
It's great to see you hEAR again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel and I'm excited that you'll be closing out summer with a stay at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village. In these uncertain times, we all need a little Disney Magic and... as Pocahontas would say, yours is "
just around the river bend."
Robin, I was so happy to answer this question because my family and I will be headed to
Disney's Old Key West Resort this August for a "resort-only" trip and I have been thinking a lot about this idea. Robin, many times on departure day I have thought to myself, I wish we could have spent more time exploring or lounging at the resort. So, I am approaching this particular vacation as Grandmother Willow would when she said, "
It seems to me this spinning arrow is pointing you down your path."Since you'll be staying in the heart of the Serengeti, you will have a beautiful backdrop for fun. My suggestion would be to spend your first few hours upon check-in familiarizing yourself with every corner of the property and exploring the schedule of offerings currently available such as
Movies Under the Stars and
activities in the Community Hall, like painting your own Disney-themed wooden letters.
If your kids are like mine, the pools are always on their list of "must-do's" and you'll find the
pools at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village open and welcoming guests. Poolside activities like Disney Trivia will also be happening- just make sure to check the schedule. You will also find outdoor games such as shuffleboard and ping pong. While my kids never play shuffleboard at home, they can't get enough on vacation!
Robin, now let's talk about my favorite topic... dining! When new dining reservations are available, I would recommend securing those not only
at your resort, but at
Disney Springs as well. We are planning to visit Disney Springs for dinner at least a few times throughout our stay, but making sure we are back to find a spot for Movies Under the Stars.
Finally, I would recommend bookmarking the
Disney Parks Blog to keep up-to-date on all of the latest announcements, just in case other resort opportunities open prior to your visit. I hope this helps as you are thinking ahead to what your next trip might look like. Before your arrival, make sure to read all about the
enhanced cleaning and safety measures.
Please come back and see us with any other questions you might have. We are all EARS.
