Bright suns, Audrey! Thanks for reaching out to us here at planDisney. It gives us all the magical Disney feels to help you make the most out of your next vacation at the
Walt Disney World Resort!
Building your lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop and your own droid at the
Droid Depot in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge are unique and unforgettable experiences. This is especially true for the experience of creating a lightsaber with the "Gatherers" at Savi's Workshop. Many Guests talk about how emotional this experience can be. And that's the magic of it. It's not just making your own customized souvenir, it's the entire experience from beginning to end. I won't spoil anything here, but trust me, it's something you'll never forget.
At this time, souvenir pickup and resort delivery are not available. It recently returned to the
Disneyland Resort, so I have my fingers crossed that we won't have to wait too long for this service to return to the Walt Disney World Resort. Be sure to stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements about the possible return of this service leading up to your visit in September.
In the meantime, I have a few solutions for you. There are
lockers available to rent for an additional fee at the front of
Disney's Hollywood Studios that will likely fit your droid without the box. Before renting, I would recommend testing it out with an open locker first. These lockers will not, however, fit your lightsaber. Another suggestion would be to try and schedule these builds closer to when you think you are going to leave the park, either for a mid-day break since
Disney's Art of Animation Resort is a convenient
Disney Skyliner ride away from the park, or for when you are done for the day.
Keep in mind that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is a deeply immersive land and many Guests love to carry around their lightsabers as it completes the experience. You will likely be given a carrying case to make carrying it around a bit easier. Also, they usually sell special backpacks specifically designed to carry your new droid friend around...and since the droids interact with the land, it's pretty awesome to carry it around with you.
Speaking of immersive experiences in Galaxy's Edge, if you have a
DisneyBand+, you'll be able to play Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters with the
Play Disney Parks mobile app. This is an interactive game where you can use your smartphone and your DisneyBand+ to find virtual bounties throughout the land. Those
Disney Imagineers think of everything!
Audrey, I wish you the best vacation at the resort and a wonderful visit to the planet of Batuu. Please be sure to
reach out to me directly if you have any other questions.
Ignite the spark,
Matt
