Hi Winta! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! For the first time in forever, well just ever, you’ll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! I cannot contain my excitement for you! Like yourself, my first visit was as an adult, and it was one of the best times of my life. I went in not knowing what to fully expect and the entire trip exceeded any expectation that I had. And it wasn’t just one attraction, character meet, or meal that did it, but the culmination of everything that I experienced. The Cast Member interactions, the theming of it all, and the tiny details that go into every part of the story are truly unmatched.
There is a lot to know for your first visit, so let’s break down a few things to help put you on the right track. Since you are visiting from Great Britain, you are eligible to
purchase 7-day or 14-day Magic Tickets. These tickets are great because they already come included with many of the extras that you will want to use. The Park Hopper Option is included which allows you to visit multiple theme parks within the same day. You can also visit the Disney Water Parks on days you want a break.
Memory Maker is included which will allow you unlimited photo downloads from any pictures you take with a PhotoPass photographer. These photographers are stationed throughout the parks and the perfect way to capture all your special moments together with your boyfriend.
With your ticket purchase, you have the option at checkout to add on
Disney Genie+ for your entire length of stay. Disney Genie+ is a service designed to help maximize your time in the parks by bypassing the standby queue on many attractions. This will help you experience more in your day by not waiting in long lines. If you did not want to purchase it prior, you will have the option to purchase it on each park day by using your My Disney Experience App that you can download on your mobile device. This app is the best way to navigate your entire vacation. You will have access to your resort accommodations, dining reservations, and any park-related information.
Once your tickets are purchased, you will need to make park reservations for the park you plan to visit each day. Walt Disney World has four theme parks, so depending on which one you want to visit each day, you will need to reserve a spot there. Since you would have the Park Hopper Option included in your tickets, starting at 2 PM on each park day after you visited your reserved park, you will be able to then visit any of the other three parks. You can make park reservations as soon as your tickets have been purchased and I recommend doing so. Park availability is constantly changing so you want to have these secured as soon as possible.
As mentioned earlier, you will need to create a My Disney Experience account to link your tickets and make park reservations. To do so, head over to the
Walt Disney Travel Company website and click on “My Disney Experience”. From here you can create a new account. Once your account is created, you will be able to link your tickets and make park reservations. You will also use this account to make Advanced Dining Reservations. You can make reservations starting 60 days before each day of your visit. There are some popular dining locations, I recommend mapping out your must-dos to ensure you get a spot.
Winta, I hope this information helps you plan the perfect vacation! Have the most magical time on your first ever visit to Walt Disney World!
Happy planning!
