Hey Bernie! Quick question, to lock away any extra money we've been purchasing Disney Gift Cards. When we arrive at the resort can we have the amounts added to our Key to the World card? Or will we need to carry around all these gift cards? Thanks!!

    Hi Aundrea!

This is a great question.  You can definitely use your Disney Gift Cards throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.  Unfortunately, you can't "pre-load"your Key to the World card with a Disney Gift Card.  Instead, you have to tie your Key to the World card to a credit card.  However, you can use your Key to the World card during the day, and then go to the front desk each night and apply the Disney Gift Cards towards your balance.

So for example, you start off with a balance of zero and you take your Key to the World card to the Magic Kingdom where you purchase dinner and a few souvenirs.  The total comes out to $150.00.  Later that evening or the next morning, you can stop by the Front Desk of your resort and use a Disney Gift Card to pay off that balance.  The key is paying off any balances with a Disney Gift Card before Disney charges your actual credit card; luckily, Disney doesn't charge your actual credit card until your balances reaches a certain limit based on the type of resort you are staying in.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
