Hey all, My partner and I are (potentially!) planning a last minute trip from the UK, but we have a (soon to be) 5 month old, and we are wondering what the situation is with riding the ‘no height requirement’ rides when there are safety bars?

    Hello,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney Luke. I love a nice spontaneous trip, it’s so fun to not plan sometimes. So let’s get this trip started for you, your partner and your soon to be five month old.

Magic Kingdom Park is a perfect park to stroll around with a little one. There are so many attractions that you can do without having to worry about height restrictions. For example, attractions like Peter Pan‘s Flight have a simple lap bar that come down, but do not secure you or your child. This is an indoor slow moving attraction, and as long as you stay seated you should not have any issues with a five month old. There are also attractions where you don’t have a lap bar and are outside. The first one I can think of is Jungle Cruise, this is bench style seating inside of a boat. While your captain tells jokes and barely steers away from danger, rest assured it is a tame ride where you can bring little ones on. Another outdoor attraction that I feel is quintessential Disney and should not be missed is Dumbo The Flying Elephant. This attraction has a lap belt instead of a bar style restraint. If you plan on revisiting this would be an excellent start of a family tradition selfie before you take flight.

Having a little one at the parks isn’t always convenient for feeding or naps. Luckily there are baby care centers located in all four parks. These locations are designed for parents of little ones. There are usually rocking chairs for feeding, as well as microwaves for warming up milk and baby food. This space also gives your family some peace and quiet during your park day. Just in case you may have run out or forgot something, you can find things to purchase for your baby. Items like diapers, wipes, baby food, and formula are available at these locations. The Baby Care Center in Animal Kingdom is near Creature Comforts. Which if you are a coffee fan, might be your first stop after the baby is cared for. The Starbucks coffee inside is self care for adults if you ask me.

I hope this information gets you to Disney quicker, and more confident that you and your grow family can have a wonderful time. If you have any other planning questions visit us again.

    Have a magical day,
