Help..this will be our first trip to Disney and I"ve probably waited too long to make the trip the best it could be. There will be 2 adults, boy age 4, girl age 11. we want to go in February or April (cheapest season). How/where do we start?

    Hi Heather!

You still have plenty of time!  I suggest you order the free Walt Disney World Planning DVD and I also suggest that you get a good tour book.  I highly recommend "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  The book is perfect for first time visitors because it has just the right amount of information without being overwhelming.  It's also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  If you want more detailed information, I also recommend "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" co-authored by Len Testa.

Between February and April, I recommend February.  The crowds will be a lot less and that is a big plus, especially on your first visit to the world's most popular tourist destination.  That said, the weather is historically nicer in April than in February.  It can still be cool in February requiring a jacket, especially at night.

My suggestion is to first decide on when you want to go and then select a hotel and make hotel reservations.  My favorite Disney Deluxe Resort is the Wilderness Lodge, my favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside, and my favorite Value Resort is Pop Century.

Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation and write back with more questions!
