    Help??mickeys bar b q or boma? children are 9 and 6

    Hi Dana!

Boma is a great buffet-style restaurant located at Animal Kingdom Lodge that offers African-inspired dishes.  We love eating here, and include a visit during most of our trips.  If you had to chose between Boma and Mickey's Backyard BBQ for your kids, however, I'd vote for the BBQ.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ is one of Disney's Dinner Shows.  It is held at the Fort Wilderness Campground in a giant outdoor, covered pavillion. At the BBQ, a great country western band gets the crowd going, and then some of Disney's biggest celebrities (i.e., Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Chip & Dale) hit the dance floor in western garb and boogie with the audience the whole night.  You'll see tons kids of all ages cutting a rug with their Disney pals.  Dinner here includes "picnic food" such as baked chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, watermelon and ice cream.  Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages are also included with your ticket.

Obviously, if you are looking for a low-key dining experience, the BBQ isn't a great choice, however, and I'd head over to Boma instead.

    Have a great trip!
