Hi, Michelle! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
As the parent of a child with special needs, one of the things that I love most about the
Walt Disney World Resort is the way that they go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone. There are many types of accommodations and services available to assist guests who have physical or cognitive disabilities, as well as medical conditions.
When I visit the Walt Disney World
theme parks with my son, we use
Disability Access Service (DAS). Disability Access Service is intended for guests whose disability or medical condition prevents them from waiting in a typical queue environment. To see if Disability Access Service or any other type of accommodation would be appropriate for your sister, I would recommend that you contact
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or disability.services@disneyparks.com prior to your sister's trip. Your sister also may want to speak with her doctor before her vacation about any restrictions due to her condition.
As you're getting your sister and her family ready for their first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to have her check out these Disney Parks Moms Panel
tips for a magical first visit.
See ya real soon!
Samantha
