You have helped so much already! Going in Aug. keep reading about rain. Is it necessary to have ponchos...or will the sun and heat dry us quickly...ponchos are so hot in the humidity! We live in MO and never wear them in the summer b/c of the humidity.

    Hi Jennifer,

I've been in August a few times and I highly, highly recommend rain ponchos!  It does not just rain in August, but at times, you will see torrential downpours!  Luckily they usually don't last too long so you will only have the poncho on for a short time.

My rule of thumb when vacationing in August is not to leave your room without your poncho.  Even if it's sunny in the morning...the pop up storms can appear quickly and you should be prepared.
