Hi Laurie!
On a recent Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I had the chance to view a special firework presentation in Magic Kingdom Park at an after hours event. I've never seen anything like it. The amount of gorgeous fireworks exploding over Cinderella Castle was unreal - my jaw was on the ground! Disney's fireworks have definitely ruined me for local firework shows - they're just "meh" after experiencing the awesomeness of a Walt Disney World firework display.
I can only imagine what the fireworks on New Year's Eve must be like in person - I've only watched them on a live stream, and they're amazing! I've seen the Happy Hallowishes Fireworks on several occasions (they're my favorite!), and they also include a 360-degree element - it's SO COOL.
When choosing between the two dessert parties, the
Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, and the
Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing, my personal preference would be the Plaza Garden. Both parties feature an array of delicious desserts, non-alcoholic beverages, and prime viewing locations for the nightly fireworks. The difference between the two parties is the location of the viewing area.
Guests who book the Tomorrowland Terrace Party will have reserved seating at tables along the edge of the restaurant patio. Guests who opt for the Plaza Garden option will be escorted by Cast Members to the Plaza Garden for viewing. Since the patio is covered, I don't think you would get a full view of the 360-degree fireworks. From the garden, you would certainly be able to see a bit more since it is an open area.
I hope this helps with your planning! - Diane W.
