Can you help me understand the cost for tickets and park reservations for Disneyland in August or September? I'm not sure if the ticket costs vary by day, and if there is an additional cost for park reservations.

Hello Sarah, and welcome to planDisney - the happiest corner of the internet. We're thrilled that you stopped by to bring us this question. It sounds like a visit to the Disneyland Resort is in the works, so let's get this party started and get to your question.

The best place to look for theme park ticket prices for your visit is directly on the Disneyland website. Pricing for 1-day tickets is dynamic and will vary depending on which day you plan on visiting. If you walk through the shopping process for a 1-day ticket, you will see a calendar that outlines the cost for a ticket on any particular day. Tickets and theme park reservations are available up to 180 days in advance, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to see your visit dates. If you're planning on a longer visit, you can purchase a multi-day ticket by selecting the number of days you plan on visiting the parks. Pricing for multi-day tickets is static for the most part and doesn't change depending on the dates of your visit (subject to change); however, you still won't be able to purchase these earlier than 180 days in advance of your visit.

When it comes to making a theme park reservation, this is included with your ticket and there's no additional cost. In fact, when you select the day of your visit when purchasing your ticket, this will create a theme park reservation for you (Yay!). You have the choice of visiting One Park Per Day or adding the Park Hopper option to your tickets, allowing you to visit both parks in the same day. You can also choose to add things like a Parking Voucher to pay for parking in advance (if needed), as well as adding Lightning Lane Multi Pass to your tickets. I recommend walking through the purchase flow and trying different scenarios (when your visit dates are available) to see what will work the best for you and your budget.

August and September are excellent months to visit as we're getting into the spooky season. The good news is that the 2026 event calendar is up and we already know exactly when the festivities will begin! I know it hasn't been that long since we last saw the giant Mickey pumpkin in Town Square, but I'm already counting down the days until it returns.

Sarah, I hope this has been helpful and gives you some good ideas for getting started with your planning. If there's anything else you have questions about or if there's something I missed, please come back to ask me any other questions. Until then, I wish you happy and magical planning. You've got a friend in me.
