Hey Howdy Hey Penny and welcome to planDisney!
Planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort can be tough getting everything just right, especially with a larger party. While most of the planning and booking of your reservations can be done online, we can review these steps as well as other options to help make planning your vacation as easy as possible!
What you can do first is try to book everything online yourself, which is the easiest way to go about this step! Online you can search for the
Disney Resort Collection hotel, plug in your dates and party and let the search engine do its thing. If you need two rooms, this will be a two-step process, making reservations for one and then doing it again for the second room, I will walk you through how to connect the reservations in a bit. After you have your search information, you should see an option before you get to pricing to either
select room-only or package, which the package includes the park tickets. You can select the room you would like and on the next step, you can modify park ticket days and see an updated total. You would do this same process for the second reservation. After you make both of the reservations, on your
My Disney Experience account, under "My Family & Friends", you can scroll down to find the option to "Add Guest". From here you can link the other party to yours by entering the confirmation number of the second reservation.
If you wanted help from a Cast Member with booking your resort hotel, you can
call Disney at (407) 939-1936 and discuss what you are looking for with them. If you choose to make the reservations yourself online, this is also the same number you would call to put in a request for the rooms to be as close as possible. Make sure you have the confirmation numbers handy as the Cast Member will need them. Just be aware that with your request, the Cast Members do their best to try and make your trip practically perfect in every way, but sometimes need a little extra patience as they might require more time to get things as close as possible to your request. When you get to your resort, I would also check in with the Cast Members at the front desk to ensure the request was put in and a reminder to try and have the rooms close.
So the whole process of getting everything done from hotel reservations and park tickets purchased can be a lot. The other thing to recommend if you feel overwhelmed or just want to take advantage of is looking into an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Happy planning,
