Hi there Aaron,
Welcome to planDisney! Sounds like you're planning a wonderful trip to Disney World this summer. Woo hoo! Planning ahead, making reservations, and adding magical details to maximize the fun is right up our alley at planDisney... so thanks for your question. I'd love to help!
There's a few types of reservations when planning a Disney trip, so let me share some general information with you that will hopefully point you in the right direction.
Need a Disney Resort reservation? That's an excellent place to start. Right on the Walt Disney World home page at the top there's a "
Build Your Vacation" search option. This walks you through selecting your dates and party size... then displays available options with a comparison of resort prices. I'm happy to let you know there are some awesome
Special Offers being run during your travel dates that may work well to save you money. Fun fact (a.k.a. "Girl Math"): Any money you get discounted off your Disney travel package is kinda like getting "free" Mickey ice cream bars during your trip. Yaay, you!!
Once you've got your travel package reserved, then you get to start sprinkling some pixie dust...
At 60 days before your arrival date, you can make some
Advance Dining Reservations. My family always tries to include a few favorites on our Disney vacations, and they often end up being our best memories! If you've got any Mouseketeers in your party, I highly recommend reserving a character dining meal. Our absolute favorites are the breakfast character extravaganza at
Topolino's Terrace (located on the top floor of Disney's Riviera Resort) or the fan favorite, always festive
Chef Mickey's (located in the Contemporary Resort). Neither of these locations require theme park admission, so they may be perfect for an arrival or departure day?
At 7 days before your arrival date (if you're
staying at a Disney resort), you can make some
Lightning Lane Pass reservations. Lightning Lane allows you to make some reservations to skip the stand by line on your must-do, favorite attractions. Used strategically, they can be a big time saver in the parks and maximize the fun you're able to pack into your day!
Yeeee haaww... get ready for the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness, Aaron! I hope this helps you to start planning your practically perfect Disney World vacation. Please
contact me again at planDisney to if you'd like to more about any of these reservation types, or if you have any other questions.
See ya' real soon!
