Hi Can you help me with regards to a first visit being for reasons of terminal illness in a parent surprising her disabled child. the child has severe visually problems how will it work with seeing shows etc is there something we can access to help pleas

    Hi Laura,

I think it is wonderful for you to be helping plan a trip for such a worthy Guest.  It just breaks my heart. My sincere well wishes to you and the family. Disney does have a wonderful system in place to help the visually impaired enjoy most of the experiences and attractions. There are handheld devices which provide detailed descriptions of select rides, shows and popular locations.  I had the chance to try these out, and they were wonderfully vivid. You can read more about these audio devices as well as the other visual assistance methods online, on the Services for Guests with Visual Disabilities page of the Walt Disney World website. You may also want to reach out to Disability Services at (407) 560-2547, to see if there are any other options or services they can assist you with.

I wish you all the best! Have a wonderful vacation and please let us know if there is anything else we may assist you with.

    Magical Wishes,

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family: graduations, pregnancies, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, reunions, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon. I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help add a little extra Pixie Dust to your next magical adventure. Learn More About Lauren
