Help please: We want 2 go from Disney Music Resort to The campsites at Fort Wilderness for a dinner show 1 night.. How long will it take to go from Music resort to Magic Kingdom to get on a bus to go to Fort Wilderness? Just trying to figure out times.

    Hi Ashley,

In this situation, I would plan on attending the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue or Mickey's Backyard BBQ on an evening that you have spent the day in the Magic Kingdom. This is because there are ferry boats from the Magic Kingdom that go over to Fort Wilderness and you'll save a lot of travel time going straight from there. The boats come approximately every 20 minutes and it will take 20-30 minutes on the boat to get there.

To answer your original question, you should plan on an hour from your resort to the Magic Kingdom. Don't worry, in all likelihood it won't take that long. The buses also come approximately every 20 minutes. You never know if you just missed one (so you'll be waiting a while) or if one is coming around the bend (so you'll be ahead of schedule). As a general rule of thumb, plan on a hour from your resort to a park or Downtown Disney. Once you get to the Magic Kingdom, you would then walk over to the boat launch area and take a ferry to Fort Wilderness (as mentioned above). Give yourself at least 45 minutes for that process as well. Taking in to account that you want to arrive at least 15 minutes early for the show, give yourself 2 hours from your resort as opposed to the 45 minutes from the Magic Kingdom.

You could always take a taxi for less than $20 and save yourself a bunch of time too!

    Happy planning,
