Hello, Haley, and welcome to planDisney! I’m sorry to hear about your daughter’s foot, but have no fear; I’m glad to share some tips so your family can still enjoy your upcoming trip to
The Most Magical Place On Earth!
You’ll be pleased to know that Disney has thoughtfully designed most
attraction queues to accommodate Guests with mobility issues, allowing wheelchairs and Electronic Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs)/Scooters while waiting in line. In some cases, you can even stay in your wheelchair/scooter or transfer from a scooter to a wheelchair to enjoy the attraction.
For those needing a wheelchair or ECV/scooter, Disney World rents both on a first-come, first-served basis.
Wheelchairs can be rented for the length of your stay, while
ECVs are available for daily rental only. Both rentals are valid for the entire day but must remain in the park. If you plan to use the Park Hopper Option, you must return your rental before leaving one park and present your receipt at the next park to get a new rental.
Some Guests prefer the same wheelchair or scooter for their entire stay, including to and from their Disney Resort hotel. In that case, I suggest searching online for local companies that offer rentals with delivery. Disney points you in the right direction for a Disney Featured Provider at the bottom of the ECV page. If you go either route, bring some flair to decorate the wheelchair or scooter; it will help tremendously when trying to find yours after an attraction or
Happily Ever After.
I hope this information helps, Haley! For more details on enjoying Disney World with mobility needs, you can find
helpful services here. If you have any more questions or need dining suggestions,
feel free to ask.
