Hi, Carly!
Planning a family resort stay with meals and easy park access is my favorite kind of Disney puzzle and Christmas time at Disney is my absolute favorite.
One of the best parts of being at Disney is that all
Disney resorts offer
complimentary transportation to the theme parks (buses, monorails, boats, and the Skyliner), so any on-property hotel will get you to
EPCOT and the other parks.
If quick access to EPCOT is a priority, consider deluxe resorts that you can walk or boat to EPCOT (
Disney's BoardWalk Inn,
Disney's Beach Club Resort, and
Disney's Yacht Club Resort) or those on the Skyliner route, which include
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and
Disney's Riviera Resort.
For a mid-price budget with good value and Disney perks, the Moderate resorts are your sweet spot.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort,
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, or
Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside. Port Orleans-Riverside is my absolute favorite. The New Orleans vibes and the beautiful river that flows through this resort are just perfect. You're also just a boat ride away from
Disney Springs (think luxury outdoor shopping, with a Disney twist). Moderate resorts are more affordable than deluxe resorts like BoardWalk, but are still on property with pools, dining, and regular park transportation. Pricing varies by date, so December mid-weeks often land in the “mid” price range.
Disney’s dining plan allows you to have an all-inclusive Disney vacation. With a Walt Disney World vacation package, your resort room, theme park tickets, and one of the dining plans help create the best budget scenario.
As you begin to consider which resort best suits your family, the first or second week of December is the best time to visit, as the Thanksgiving crowd has just left and the Christmas and New Year's crowd hasn't arrived yet.
Carly, if you have more questions about specific resorts or locations at Disney, please stop by and see us again soon.
Happy planning and toodles!
