Help with planning an itinerary for Disneyland

    Hi Honey!

Welcome to planDisney! Planning a day at Disneyland Park is so much fun, but it can also be a little bit overwhelming. I'd be happy to give you some ideas to get started!

My most important tip is to arrive at the parks early so you have plenty of time to park (theme park lots open 60 minutes prior to the earliest park opening time), go through security, and be one of the first in line to enter Disneyland Park. Those early morning park hours are the best!

Next, are you a thrill seeker or do you like to take things slow? If you're all about the wildest rides in the wilderness then I would suggest purchasing Disney Genie+ Service so that you can access Lightning Lanes for epic rides like Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain. I like to start my day exploring with Dr. Jones, then hopping on the Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean since they're all fairly close to each other!

You should also take a look at the entertainment schedule so you know what shows you'd like to see! Don't skip the "Atmosphere Entertainment" section, it has some of my favorite performances like The Dapper Dans!

Food is always an important part of a Disney day! You can check online for dining reservations, or you can enjoy plenty of amazing quick-service options! My personal favorite is Bengal Barbecue, which is conveniently close to The Tropical Hideaway for the best dessert in the park: DOLE Whip!

Your best tool in the parks is the Disneyland Mobile App! You can download it before your visit and use it to explore the digital map, it's a great way to get oriented. I use the app to check wait times, reserve Lightning Lanes, view the entertainment schedule, mobile order snacks from participating locations (like Bengal Barbecue!), and link photos from attractions and Disney PhotoPass Photographers. It's super helpful! You might want to bring an extra battery for your phone so it doesn't run out of pixie dust.

I hope this is a good start to your planning, Honey! Don't forget to grab a snack and a seat on a bench to just enjoy the atmosphere of the park. It really is one of my favorite places to be!

    Keep moving forward!
