Help! Moved trip up to Jan from May, now have 6wks to plan vs. 6 months. What is the weather like? From Arizona & used to wearing tshirts/flipflops during winter with a light jacket...is this enough?

    Hi Michelle,

Florida weather in January can be tricky.  Last year it snowed in January and was quite chilly all winter long.  Coming from the hot, dry weather you're used to in Arizona, I would definitely plan on packing some warmer clothes.  You'll want a heavier jacket, especially for the evenings.  When I go in the winter months I pack clothes that I can layer: Jeans, short-sleeved t-shirts, sweaters/jackets.

You can begin checking the Orlando weather reports.  They give forecasts for 10 days out.

I wish I could be more helpful, but the only advice is to wait and see.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation.

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
