Help! I don't know what to choose for a resort. We will be staying at WDW at the beginning of March 2011. Which is the best resort for a family with 2 girls, 8 and 4 and a 2 year old boy? Moderate or Value would be in our price range. Thanks so much!! <

    Lindsay:

If you can swing it, I would recommend staying at one of the Moderate resorts versus a Value for several reasons:

    1. Although you would still qualify to stay at a Value resort if your 2-year-old sleeps in a crib, if there are two adults with the three children, a Value room is a tight space with the crib.
    2. March ushers in Spring Break and the Value resorts are very popular with groups and teens during this time of the year. I think you'll find a Moderate hotel less noisy and the pools less crowded.
    3. The Moderate hotels provide a refrigerator. If you're on a budget, having a refrigerator for items for breakfast or snacks can save you money that can actually make the upgrade more affordable in the long run.
    4. The Moderates sport a privacy curtain in the vanity area. Your 8-year-old may be getting to an age where she doesn't need to be privy to everything, and this will provide the adults with more room to change than just the small water closet.
    5. Warm weather also comes in March and that means pool time. A Moderate pool's theme and slide makes it more memorable, in my opinion, especially if you stay at Caribbean Beach Resort.
    6. The lush landscape of the Moderates and their theming provides the perfect backdrop for a vacation. Port Orleans' boat to Downtown Disney is an attraction all unto itself!
I could go on and on, but with children the ages of yours, you will be spending more time at the resorts than just getting up and heading out to the parks until midnight which is suitable for a stay at a Value resort. My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
