HELP! My daugter and I r going to WDW for the first time, but we are on a tight budget. We haven't gone on a trip together since forever, and i really want to go for her spring break. She is 12 and she has never gone, and i want to give her the best trip.

Hi, Chris!   I am so excited for you and your daughter!   What a fun way to spend your spring break!  Since you are watching your spending (and these days, who isn't!) there are some tips I can give you to stretch your Mickey Dollars!

-Pack a refillable sports bottle from home for water.   You can refill it throughout your days in the parks without paying for expensive bottled water.

-Pick-up a rain poncho from your local discount store and keep it in your bag.   This is much cheaper than buying a poncho in the parks during that unexpected rain!

-Bring a cute notebook and a pen from home for character autographs.   No need to spend money on an expensive autograph book at the parks, when a notebook does the trick!   Plus, this would be a nice place for your daughter to jot some notes about her trip or keep a journal to capture the memories!

-Have a light breakfast in your room or food court - breakfast bars or a muffin - then make lunch your main meal.    Generally, the lunch menus are more economical than the dinner menus at table service restaurants, and you get the same great food.

-Save any souvenir shopping until the end of the week.   You will change your mind over and over on what special souvenir you want to take home, so think it over and get that special item towards the end of your trip.   It will give you one more thing to look forward to!

-Pick one special meal, maybe lunch at Crystal Palace with Pooh or breakfast at Chef Mickey's.   Other meals can be enjoyed at one of the many of the quick service restaurants have nice meals at affordable prices.   Check for wraps, salads, and other delicious choices at a great price.

-Value Resorts are your best value for lodging on Disney Property.   Use their free Magical Express transportation to and from the airport.

I hope you and your daughter have a magical time on your vacation together!
