Help moms! Daughter, husband, 17,11,8,1 yr old. Are they a party of 5 or 6 for dining? Do they give the 1 yr old meal and snack credits each day? She also needs to know if buffets auto charge 18% tip if they are a party of 6. Wants no surprises. Thanks.

Hi Jolene! Walt Disney World is such a great place for a family vacation as there are so many wonderful things to enjoy for all ages.

What you have described as the family group you would definitely include the one year old in your dining reservations so it would be a party of six. Although the young one won't necessarily eat a meal they must be included in the number so they will have a safe place to sit during the meal. Strollers are not allowed in the table service locations but many of the quick service spots will allow you to leave the children in a stroller during your meal.

Disney does include an 18% automatic tip when it is parties of six or more. Even infants who are not eating will be included in this number so its best to plan on this added gratuity for all Table Service locations you will be dining at. This will include buffets. Even if you chose to hold a baby in your lap a server will see that there are six persons and can include this charge.

I agree it is best to know ahead of time what you need to budget for a vacation. Knowing about the automatic tipping charge for a large party is part of that. I am sure the family will receive special and wonderful service during their stay and will enjoy all the great dining opportunities that are in the parks and in the resorts.
