Hi, Diane!
The Disney Wonder to the Mexican Riviera is a great way to escape the winter blues! Disney Cruise Line recommends that you book flights no later than 12 p.m. on Embarkation Day and no earlier than 1 p.m. on Debarkation Day. My family and I actually are sailing the itinerary you're thinking about in a few weeks, and we're staying at the Disneyland Hotel prior to sailing out of Los Angeles.
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation is available roundtrip from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to the Port of Los Angeles and/or from one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels:
- Disneyland Hotel
- Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
- Disney's Grand Californian Hotel
You can book a
Pre-Cruise Hotel Package at the Disneyland Resort by calling
(714) 520-5060 or by reserving your room when you book your Disney cruise on DisneyCruise.com.
Since we arrive around midday the day before we sail, we're actually going to use the opportunity to visit Disneyland and California Adventure, too. I think visiting the parks will be a wonderful "appetizer" before we set sail with Mickey. Plus, the next day, all the details will be worked out for us to board our motorcoach to the port, and we don't have to worry about a thing. Once we check our bags at the hotel, we won't see them again until they arrive in our stateroom.
I hope this gives you a good idea of what to expect and how to plan. Please let me know if I can assist you further. I'll have lots of information and advice about Mexico once I return...so make sure you come back and ask more questions. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
