Help! Which would you choose the Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Contemporary for Dec.28-Jan 4 first time WDW vacation. Our kids will be 11, 9 & 6. Would like a balcony w/a MK view, large clean room, easy access to MK and Epcot and great food!

All of these resorts would meet your request to have a Magic Kingdom view with a balcony, a large clean room, and easy access to the Magic Kingdom/Epcot as well as great food.  The Polynesian does have a slight advantage with being able to walk to the Ticket and Transportation Center to take the monorail to Epcot whereas the other resorts would require transferring monorails.
With this said, I do want to point out that the Grand Floridian is stunning at Christmas with its breathtaking lobby filled with an enormous Christmas tree, a life-size gingerbread house, and a live band playing Christmas music.
Since the resorts really share all the same amenities, it may be the personal preference of theming that may be more important to you.  If you visit www.allearsnet.com and look under accommodations, you can explore photos of each resort to see the rooms as well as holiday decorations.
