Hi Donna,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with a great question!
While we do offer advice and tips for planning a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, we do not help with purchasing airfare. We can offer suggestions for how to plan flights as you consider booking a
vacation package. First things first, I will say that we most often drive to a larger airport two hours away from our house to catch direct flights to Disney.
Even with the two hour drive, cutting out a layover relieves some stress because we know that we should arrive in about an hour and a half after our flight takes off from the airport. So, we tend to take early morning flights and I make an
advanced dining reservation for a breakfast or brunch and often do so with a
character meal.
When I book our return flights, I typically only book flights that depart at 3:00 p.m. or afterwards. Since we typically have to leave for the airport three hours early, I want to be sure that we have time for breakfast prior to leaving. So, we will finish packing, head to breakfast at our resort hotel, and then check out in time to catch transportation to the airport.
I will also add that I love tracking our frequent flyer miles with each airline that we use. If there is a way to use that airfare during the dates of our trip, I most certainly will. We are always looking for ways to save money. As you continue to price airfare, remember to make note of your finalized flight plans once made.
Donna, I am sending a little extra dose of pixie dust hoping that you will find good airfare, book that vacation package, and find a few other ways to save. We are so excited about your upcoming trip!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
