Hello, With a room-only reservation, is there a charge (e.g. one night charge or a total forfeit of the remaining stay) if someone checks-out before the departure date? I understand the policy before check-in, just not after check-in. Thanks!

    Season's greetings, Renee!

Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for returning with another great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm excited to hear that you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year! You're in for a cozy Christmastime stay at one of the fabulous Disney Resort hotels.

Soon, you'll be checking in at a beautifully appointed Disney Resort hotel. Renee, I'm currently here on-site enjoying a wonderful stay at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and I was able to check in with some friendly Cast Members to verify their cancelation and modification policies. While I hope you're able to enjoy the entire length of your originally planned stay, I understand that plans do change on occasion. Renee, Guests with room-only Resort hotel reservations must pay the remaining balance at the time of check-in, and no refunds or credits are provided if Guests check out earlier than planned. Therefore, I recommend modifying your Resort hotel reservation to reflect your planned check-out date at least five days before your scheduled arrival to avoid any penalties.

Renee, as I mentioned, I'm here at the Walt Disney World Resort at the time of writing, and the halls are already being decked at the theme parks and Disney Resort hotels! The holiday season officially kicked off here yesterday, and the spirit of the holidays is apparent everywhere you look. From the stunning seasonal décor to the tasty limited-time treats, you'll enjoy being immersed in holiday magic from the moment you check in at your Disney Resort hotel. Your visit also coincides with the start of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, a cultural celebration of holiday traditions around the world!

I hope you've found this information helpful as you finalize your holiday vacation plans, Renee. I'm wishing you a merry and magical trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Feel free to return to planDisney with any remaining questions you might have. We're here to help you make special holiday memories!

    Warm wishes,

    Lauren
