Hello, Johnson!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney. Your 3-year-old will love sailing on the
Disney Cruise Line! My youngest child enjoyed her first Disney Cruise when she was about that age, and it was such a special experience.
Document requirements depend on your cruise itinerary. For most round-trip cruises departing from the United States, an original state-issued birth certificate for children 15 and younger is sufficient to board the ship. I recommend visiting the
Passports, Visas, & Citizenship Documentation page for information specific to your sailing.
Although passports might not be required for your cruise, I always recommend getting one for every family member if there is time to do so. Not only do passports simplify the boarding process, but they also make it easier to fly out of another country in the rare event of an emergency. I like to be over-prepared (which is probably why I am also an over-packer!).
Did you know that 3-year-olds who are fully potty trained can spend time in
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Disney's Oceaneer Lab? These fun youth clubs are part of the reason my kids love sailing on the Disney Cruise Line! There are arts and crafts, fun games, and plenty of activities that your child will enjoy! You can explore the Youth Clubs together during the Open House on embarkation day. Just check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the Open House hours after boarding the ship.
Johnson, have a wonderful voyage on the Disney Cruise Line! Do not hesitate to contact planDisney again if you have additional questions!
Happy sailing!
Jen
