Hi there, Emily!
How exciting that you'll be kicking off 2025 with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort! I always love a January visit, because the earlier sunsets provide more time to see the theme parks aglow in magical light (the light sabers of Batuu, bioluminescence of Pandora, and neon storefronts of Sunset Boulevard are my favorites). Whatever you love most about The Most Magical Place on Earth, Emily, I hope your vacation has in abundance!
As you're aware, the next few years will bring
several updates to The Most Magical Place on Earth, including the reimagining of DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Although a specific timeline for construction and closure has not yet been released, the
Disney Parks Blog did recently share that work will begin on DinoLand U.S.A. in the fall of 2024. Because we do not yet have specific dates and details, it is difficult to say if the area will close at once or if certain areas and offerings will remain available for Guests once construction is underway. I suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog in the coming months as updates on the process are revealed. If the announced groundbreaking date holds true, you should have more information well before your vacation.
Happily, even if DinoLand U.S.A. goes extinct before your visit, you will still be able to enjoy a meal at
Tusker House Restaurant alongside your favorite characters as it is safely tucked away in the African portion of the theme park. While you're in Africa, be sure to make time to enjoy
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. This area of the theme park is one of my favorites because it allows for incredible views of the wildlife without a wait!
I hate that I was unable to provide you with a definitive answer about DinoLand, Emily, but I do hope the information I shared was helpful! If you have any additional questions feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
