Hey Lisa,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so happy you have chosen to bring your question here.
Lisa,
Walt Disney World has yet to announce the start date of the 2025
Christmas season. Like you, I am a fan of both the spooktacular vibes of Halloween and the festive magic of Christmas, so my family often plans our vacation to experience the seasonal crossover.
Most recently, in 2024, we celebrated Halloween at
Magic Kingdom on the 31st of October. When we returned to Magic Kingdom on the 1st of November, the park's entrance, Main Street, U.S.A., and Town Square had already been transformed overnight, complete with the enormous Christmas tree! The Cast Members truly work their magic during the transition. While the decorations were up, the Christmas season itself officially started about a week later, and each day we noticed more festive touches appearing across the whole resort.
In 2025, things may happen slightly differently, as Halloween falls on a Friday. It is likely, based on previous years, that there will be a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Saturday, the 1st of November, which could delay the overnight decoration change by a day or so. While this is just an educated guess at this stage, I hope it provides a helpful guide for planning your trip to enjoy both Halloween and a taste of the holidays in one vacation.
I really recommend checking out the
Disney Parks Blog regularly to stay up to date with announcements about Disney Destinations around the world, including the start of the Christmas season. There are also links to all the Disney Parks socials on the blog, so if you follow those, you are sure not to miss a thing!
Whilst I haven't been able to give you an exact answer, Lisa, I hope my experience in the past can help you start to plan when you would like to visit. If you have any more questions or need further advice, please reach out to us at planDisney.
Have a magical day!
Matt
