    Hello, What time of the year is best to travel to Disney? I would like to avoid long lines and price increases. And what is the average cost of a Disney trip for a family of 6?

    Hi Amavi!
    If you ask ten people when the best time to travel to Walt Disney World is, you will surely get ten different answers. It is all in the perspective of the planner. Additionally, what used to be very distinct busy and slow times of year have now morphed quite a bit. What may used to have been a slow month may still be somewhat slow but with 2 busy weekends occurring due to a runDisney event or some other special weekend. There are very few long stretches of "slow" time anymore.
    In MY opinion, the best time of year to visit is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Weather is pretty nice (usually), crowds are moderate to low, prices are good, and the whole property (theme parks and resorts) are decked out for the holidays! Price increases can happen at any time, so it is diificult to plan around that.
    Trying to put an average price on a trip is also difficult because you don't specify accomodation type, length of stay, food preferences, etc. So, what I will say is that you can spend as much as you want to plan a magical vacation splurge, or you can plan a more restrained, budget-friendly trip that is just as magical. A trip to Walt Disney World is not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination, but there are ways to plan that fit any budget.
