Hi Kara,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I love a stay at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The theme is so sleek and modern, and the ability to walk to the Magic Kingdom is wonderful!
Typically, the requests that you are able to make when doing online check in at a Walt Disney World resort are a little less specific than the requests that you want to make, for instance, you might be allowed to request a room on a higher floor. I called and spoke with a cast member who suggested that for more specific room requests, you should call to have them noted on your reservation. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member and made this reservation with Disney Vacation Club, you can do this by calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800. If you made your reservation with a travel agent, that travel agent should be able to note the request on your reservation. If you made your reservation directly through Disney, call them at 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) to have the request noted. Then, about a week before your check-in date, I suggest that you call Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort directly at 407-824-1000 to check that the request is noted on your reservation. When you arrive and are assigned a room, if you are not happy with the room that is assigned to you, you can ask the cast member if there are other rooms available that would closer suit your requests. Even if there are not, sometimes if you are willing to wait a little longer to check in, a room that matches your requests may become available. Please do note that while Disney will do their best to honor all requests, they are not guaranteed.
I hope that this information is helpful for you, Kara. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
