Hi Marisa!
Great news! I love hearing you will be sailing from Barcelona with Captain Mickey AND getting to experience Rome...truly one of the most amazing cities in the world. Having recently looked at Port Adventures for my family on a similar Mediterranean itinerary, I know I can help you out!
Food tours are always a blast because they merge some of the most fabulous things about travel: history, sightseeing, and FOOD! Both the Port Adventures you mentioned in Civitavecchia have heavy components of food being offered in the markets. I believe the Food Historical Walking tour may sound more filling because of the visit to the Stazione di Posta restaurant.
Having been to both St. Peter’s Basilica, Trevi Fountain, and the Colosseum and comparing the two tours, I would have
Walk Eat Tour with Trevi Fountain and Colosseum as my first choice. I much prefer getting to see the iconic spots of the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, and the Campo de Fiori adjacent to Piazza Navonna is truly charming.
The
Food, Historical Walking Tour and St. Peter's Square also sounds fascinating, especially getting to eat delicious Cacio e Pepe at a Michelin star restaurant. But I feel like the better assortment of destinations is in the Walk Eat excursion.
My best advice is to read through all the specific information listed on each tour, including the Know Before You Go descriptions. That always helps me make the most informed decision on which Port Adventures I want to explore.
I cannot sing the praises of a
Port Adventure with Disney Cruise Line enough. There's great peace of mind in knowing that Disney Cruise Line will make every effort to wait for its Guests on Port Adventures and actually make sure one way or another they get you back to the ship if plans go sideways.
No matter which tour you choose, it's sure to be a wonderful adventure and something your family will talk about for years to come. Sail back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you think of more questions. Have a MAGICal voyage!
Adventure is out there!
