    Hello! We’re visiting the end of September (yeah!!!!!). We’re planning our waterpark days and ran into a snag making reservations for umbrella’s /cabanas. I’m wondering if it’s because Typhoon Lagoon is closing on 9/27 and BB is opening? Any info avail?

    Well hey there Johannes, I'd like to wish you a wonderful, watery welcome to planDisney!

    When it comes to snagging a shady seat at one of the Water Parks at Walt Disney World Resort, I sometimes find myself surrounded by fellow guests scurrying like the seagulls from Finding Nemo yelling "MINE MINE MINE!"; I can definitely see the appeal and forward thinking that comes with booking your own beach umbrella or even a Beachcomber Shack from the Enchanting Extras Collection. 

    I've also personally encountered situations in the past where the booking system required me to contact the appropriate teams directly over the phone due to available inventory and dates not being updated online. (You may have similar luck if you attempt to call the Recreation line and ask to speak with a Cast Member who can help you with their additional insight on availability.)

    Regarding operating dates in the foreseeable future, I inquired with a Cast Member who let me know that from what they can see, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is still scheduled to be open past that date through the end of September 2023 while Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is still scheduled to be closed as of the furthest viewable date in October. (These dates are subject to change without prior notice, so there's a chance that we all may be surprised with a sudden decision to reopen like it did over the few months when we were able to enjoy it this past winter.)
     
    In the meantime I recommend that you just keep swimming and be sure to keep your eye on the horizon in case any official updates are announced on the Disney Parks Blog. We'll always be here in the meantime for any other tips and tricks to help you enjoy your next visit to the fullest!
