Hello! We'll be staying at the Disneyland Hotel and won't be entering the park on our first night there. We were wondering if there's a spot at the Hotel or somewhere else nearby where we could see the fireworks. Thank you!

    Hi there, Vivienne,

Welcome back to planDisney! It’s great to see you here again and I am happy to help you with more of your Disneyland Resort vacation plans.

I think your idea of settling in on your first night is a wise plan. Exploring the Disneyland Resort Hotel and the Downtown Disney District, plus catching the view of the Disneyland Park spectacular fireworks will make for a magical night.

On my last visit to Disneyland Resort, while walking back to the Disneyland Hotel through Downtown Disney District, I was pleasantly surprised to hear the fireworks. I turned around at just the right time to see them sparkling in the sky! This was between Tortilla Jo’s and Splitsville Luxury Lanes, which isn't far from the hotel. At the Disneyland Hotel, you can see the fireworks in the sky outside of the Adventure Tower or if you have a room facing Downtown Disney, you may also have a view. If you hope to possibly hear the fireworks soundtrack, you could head to the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. There is often a good crowd viewing from there, which I think adds to the magic.

Vivienne, you are arriving at Disneyland Resort at a very merry time of year! Since your last visit to planDisney, the special dates for Holidays at the Disneyland Resort have been announced. Rather than Wondrous Journeys, you will have the opportunity to see the gorgeous "Believe...In Holiday Magic" Fireworks Spectacular, which begins November 10, 2023. I hope that you will have the chance to watch this display from inside Disneyland Park. My favorite place to view them is actually outside “it’s a small world” Holiday edition. You will be mesmerized and you just might see a snowflake or two!

Remember, all fireworks are dependent on weather and other conditions and may be canceled or changed without notice. Check the Disneyland app for updates and schedules.

I hope this information helps you have a magical first night of your vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth, Vivienne. If you have other questions, we would love to see you again here at planDisney!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
