Hello, We are visiting WDW this September 21-28th. I am trying to decide if my kids are at a good age for the Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, they are 4 and 7 (will almost be 5 and 8). Is it really NOT so scary? Thanks!

    Hi Theresa,

I've seen this question frequently and it really will depend on your family's expectations of the party. I am a huge fan of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and find nearly all elements to be very family friendly. However if your kids happen to be frightened easily, perhaps you'd simply decide to skip the special Happy HalloWishes fireworks, for example, boding a villain-ish tone. You can easily jump on an attraction during the fireworks presentation. The overall ambience of the party is super fun, with costume wearing guests (including Disney Characters in costume!) and plenty of trick or treating. My favorite element of the party is Mickey's "Boo to You" Halloween Parade with elaborate choreography, floats, and the ability to see the Headless Horseman gallop through Magic Kingdom. Because it's an evening party lasting until the wee hours and it does carry an added expense, you'll need to determine if the late night and vacation dollars invested are worth it for your family. Each family is different but I can tell you the party is incredibly popular, largely in part to its unique theming and entertainment. You'll see several gradeschoolers in attendance, often wearing their favorite Halloween costume.

I hope my thoughts were helpful to you, Theresa, and I wish you the most "spook"tacular time (I promise it's not scary!) at the Most Magical Place on Earth

    Happy planning.
