Hello, We will be visiting Disneyworld for the first time in March. My 7-year old boys love Star Wars. Is there a character experience with Star Wars? Thank you very much!!

    Hi Alice,

Your little Jedi is in for a really special experience! You'll want to be at Disney's Hollywood Studios as soon as the park opens and head directly to Star Tours to sign him up for the Jedi Training Academy! This fills up very quickly and I'd hate for your little guy to be disappointed, so I can't stress strongly enough how important it is to get there first thing. He'll have the opportunity to test his lightsaber skills against Darth Vader, Darth Maul or others from the Dark Side.

Other Star Wars characters are usually only seen during Star Wars Weekends which are in late May and early June. You may want to plan on taking him to one of those as he gets older.

While over near Star Tours, be sure to ride it several times, as there are over 50 different possible story combinations.

Your son may also want to build his own lightsaber or droid. The Disney Parks Blog featured information about building your own Star Wars droid last year. My boys absolutely loved building their own lightsaber when they were younger.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further and have a wonderful vacation,
