Hi there, Emma!
Welcome to
planDisney - we're so glad you stopped by with your question for our team of panelists! Our goal is to help Guests just like you plan magical Walt Disney World Resort holidays, and I'm happy to answer your question today!
Walt Disney World Resort prides itself on being a place where
all Guests can enjoy the magic, and as such, there are many services available to meet various Guest needs. The Disability Access Service (DAS) is one such option that assists Guests who have difficulty using standard queues.
Currently, online pre-registration for DAS is only available when a Guest is located in the United States. This means that if you arrive in the U.S. ahead of your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, you could
complete the pre-registration process online at that time (note that this link will only work properly in the U.S.). Or, you can simply register on-site at any
Guest Relations location once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.
If your online or in-person registration is completed at least two days before a park visit, you will also be allowed to make up to two DAS Advance attraction or experience reservations for each day. Then, once you arrive at a Theme Park, you'll be able to make and hold one other DAS selection at a time. So, if you are visiting the Theme Parks for eight days, and complete your DAS registration on the first day, you would still be eligible to book DAS Advance reservations for days later in the trip!
DAS provides Guests with access to Lightning Lane queues for reduced wait times, and many Guests do choose to also take advantage of Disney's Genie+ Service as well. In essence, this allows you to hold an additional reservation on top of your DAS reservation. Both give you access to the Lightning Lane, so by adding Genie+ on top of DAS, you'll be able to enjoy more attractions and experiences. It's also important to note that a DAS party can have a maximum of six Guests, so if your crew is larger, Genie+ can help ensure that everyone has a magical day!
Keep in mind that this is a new system, and while it has dramatically improved the accessibility of the DAS service, things are always changing. Be sure to speak to a Cast Member once you arrive to learn about any updates, or you may wish to
reach out in advance to the Disability Services team.
I hope this information is helpful -
please let me know if we can answer any other questions as you continue planning!
