Hello Edith,
Welcome to Walt Disney World and thank you for your excellent question. For Guests with limited mobility, I highly recommend renting either ECV's (Electric Conveyance Vehicles/ Scooters) or manual (non-electric) wheelchairs to more fully enjoy their vacation experience.
To rent either manual wheelchairs or ECV's you have the choice of either renting directly from Disney for use inside the theme parks, or renting from local private companies known as Disney featured providers for use throughout all of Walt Disney World. There are not wheelchair rentals at the Resort Hotels. For your situation I recommend making a wheelchair or ECV reservation from one of the Disney featured providers. This way you can use your wheelchair or ECV outside of the theme parks and will be able to enjoy all features that the Boardwalk area has to offer.
To view the names of the Disney featured providers and their contact info, click onto this link for
ECV Rentals at Walt Disney World and scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will find their contact information and can make arrangements for delivery of a wheelchair or ECV to the Boardwalk for your vacation dates.
I hope this information helps you with your vacation plans Edith. If you have any further questions, please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and ask them here. We love to help plan magical vacations.
Blessings,
Brenda ºOº
