Hello, We have reservations at the Grand Californian in September. Along with that, we purchased Park Hopper Tickets. Due to the fact that our tickets were already purchased, will we be likely to gain entrance into the parks? Thank you, in advance. :)

Greetings, Rose, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait for your upcoming visit to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa… it’s my favorite place to stay at the Happiest Place on Earth!

This is a great question. Unfortunately, having a hotel reservation and theme-park tickets won’t guarantee access to the theme parks. But, having both of these secured is definitely a step in the right direction! Here’s what we know so far: To help comply with governmental recommendations and to promote physical distancing, the Disneyland Resort will be managing attendance through a new theme park reservation system. This system will require all Guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. So, to enter a park, all Guests will need both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date. Reservations will be limited and subject to availability.

The good news is that you already have your park tickets and your hotel reservation, so, if Disneyland Resort’s reservation system follows the one currently being used at Walt Disney World Resort, then you could potentially have first dibs on making reservations. Currently, Walt Disney World Resort’s Disney Park Pass System (which just launched on Monday) is allowing Guests with both Disney Resort reservations and valid theme park admission to make park reservations. Then, over the next week, Annual Passholders without a Resort stay can start making reservations, followed by existing ticket holders. I would imagine Disneyland Resort will follow a similar launch plan, but we don’t have anything confirmed just yet. We should be hearing more information about the new reservation system soon, so I recommend continuing to check this page and the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest updates.

Please reach out with any additional questions, Rose… I’m all EARs!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
