Ken from AZ Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello, We are purchased our tickets through Shades of Green. My son is a Florida resident and we purchased his ticket. I know he has to show proof of residency before his ticket is validated. Are we able to make his park entrance reservations?

Hey there, hi there, ho there Ken!

Thank you for sending us your question and welcome to planDisney, the sunniest place on the internet. Florida resident deals truly make experiencing the magic that much easier for Florida residents, so I understand why you would want to take advantage of those offers! And what a great gift to give somebody: Walt Disney World Resort tickets! I am so excited for you and your family to create magical memories together, and I am thrilled to be a part of your planning process.

Now let's talk about Florida resident tickets. You are right that your son will have to show proof of Florida residence to activate his ticket. This can be done in two ways: either online upon purchase or at a Guest Relations window at the main entrance of any of the four theme parks. Indeed, if you were to purchase tickets for him in the future through the Disney World website, you will be able to simply upload his proof of residence by filling out the "Your Florida Resident Information" form or by completing the "Customize Your Tickets" step upon checkout. That way, he will not have to show his proof of residence upon arrival! In this case, however, you can still make park reservations for your entire party, even before he has shown his proof of residence. The activation of the ticket is really only so that it can be scanned in the parks, but you are free to make theme park reservations in the meantime.

As a reminder, your son can use any valid, state-issued, Florida ID cards, proof of mortgage, bills, policies, registration or mail no longer than 2 months old as proof of his Florida residence. He will simply have to bring this proof of residence with him on the first day of your visit.

The only thing you will need to make sure of is that everyone's tickets are linked to their respective My Disney Experience accounts. To do this, you would simply log into your My Disney Experience account and click on "My Plans." There, you will be able to click on a blue tab that says "Add More Plans" and then on "Link Reservations and Purchases." Once all of your tickets are properly linked, you will be able to make theme park reservations for your party.

I hope this was helpful, Ken, and that you are able to enjoy the magic with your family real soon! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, don't hesitate to reach out. You truly are as welcome as can be!

Have a magical and sunny day,
