Hello, We are planning a trip to WDW in late Sept or early Oct 2014 and want to try to avoid any extra busy times if possible. Are there are festivals/special activities going on at that time that would make one week better than another?

    Hi Connie!

September and October are excellent months to visit Walt Disney World!  You are late enough in the year to avoid the summer vacation crowd and early enough to avoid the holiday crowd.  Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts around mid-September and runs until the end of October, so you will run into *some* crowds as it gets closer to Halloween.  The earlier you go, the less crowded it should be.

If you do visit during a party night, I highly suggest you attend if you have never been before.  It's a special event ticket party, meaning you will need a separate ticket.  The characters are in full Halloween garb, there is a special (and awesome) parade, Boo-to-You and a one of a kind Halloween fireworks show, Happy HalloWishes.  Did I mention you can trick-or-treat all throughout the Magic Kingdom?

No matter time of year you visit Walt Disney World, it is guaranteed to be a magical vacation for you and your family.

    Happy New Year!
