Hello, We are planning on taking our 3 yr old granddaughter to wdw in October we are planning a ten day trip, I want to save money and not do the hopper pass as I feel she is to young and we wont benefit from this my husband disagrees what are your though

    HI Thelma,

October is a lovely time to visit Walt Disney World.  The weather is fantastic, and the crowds are usually lower.  It is one of my favorite times of the year.  Since you are staying for ten days, I really don't feel that you will need to have a Park Hopper Pass.  I think you will be able to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours if you are staying on Walt Disney World property.  Even if you are not, a full day at any of the theme parks is enough to make anyone tired, especially a three year old.  I can see how this would be beneficial if you were only staying less than a week or if your granddaughter will take long naps during the day. Adding the Park Hopper option is expensive.  I would use that money to attend other special events that she would like as well.  Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is at the Magic Kingdom on select nights from 7 pm to Midnight.  You can dress up and Trick-or-Treat in the park as see the characters in costume as well.  My children love this event!  You can also board the Pirates and Pals Firework Voyage at the Contemporary Resort and see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from a boat in the Seven Seas Lagoon.  You answer Disney Trivia questions and the kids get little treasures from Patch, the Captain of the ship.  It is such a great time.  I really think there is so much to do outside of the theme parks, and you will have fun exploring these options.  Please send me a follow up question, if I can help you further, Thelma.  Have a magical vacation.
